STORYLINE

The Guardians Korean Drama Review

The Guardians is a South Korean drama series that revolves around five individuals, all working for justice. These people have their lives upended due to tragic events in the past. However, it is not the only reason why these characters are drawn together. Each one of them has a different background and perspective.

The group’s main members include a seasoned detective, a brilliant hacker, a police officer, and an attorney. Together, the group strives to catch the criminals and provide the public with the help they need. They are also dedicated to exposing the corrupt nature of the legal system.

One of the major themes of the drama is that corruption prevents ordinary people from getting justice. The group of citizens are very disappointed with the state of the legal system in South Korea. This leads them to band together to get justice for their loved ones.

Prosecutor Jang Do Han is a prosecutor who is very passionate about his work. He is willing to risk his life to pursue a villain. While he tries to make the case against the villain, the team discovers that his intentions are not pure.

Another person on the team is Gong Kyung Soo, a brilliant mind and hacker. His mother has gone missing in a suspicious accident. After receiving the news, he is determined to find out what happened to her. Eventually, he gets the help of Seo Bo Mi, an introverted woman. Their relationship is very complicated.

The last of the team is a young, aspiring lawyer, named Kim Eun Jung. Her father is a prosecutor. He harbors a furtive love for Soo Ji. However, his approach to justice is no match for Prosecutor Yoon. A former police officer, he possesses a keen eye for crime and his determination to serve the people comes across as genuine.

Ultimately, the team finds out that the Chief Prosecutor has been manipulating the cases of the team members. It is then revealed that he is the father of Yoon Si Wan, a psychopath who killed Soo Ji’s daughter. Despite the tragedy, the group finds out that there are some things that are worth fighting for.

The group’s premise is also a good one. The plot is not overly dramatic, but it does focus on the human emotions and their connection to the law. When you consider that the majority of the series’ episodes are 35 minutes long, the action and the plot are not lacking.

The drama is a bit heavy-handed in its portrayal of emotional instability. However, it provides light notes through its supporting roles. For example, when Do Han dies to protect Soo Ji, he does so for the sake of her daughter. In fact, he could have saved her life.

The drama also focuses on the psychological and physical vulnerabilities of the characters. This is made possible by the talented and natural actress Lee Si Young. She gives a great performance, strutting gutsy fight sequences and delivering tear-inducing scenes.
